About

Diego Redel's interest in photography began when he received a camera from his family, from his stepmother Eliane Fistarol, a professional photographer in Chapecó, who ignited his passion for the craft. Her encouragement led him to attempt to get his work published in newspapers, which first occurred in 1995 when he was only 13 years old, with his photographs appearing in the newspaper A Notícias.

That year, during the final of the Santa Catarina Championship, a violent clash occurred between fans of Chapecoense and Figueirense, which resulted in Redel capturing two powerful images: one of a military policeman injured in the confrontation, and another of a group of policemen beating the alleged aggressor.

In the years that followed, Redel worked for various newspapers in Brazil south region, elevating your name and spreading your artistic images nationwild. He joined the newspaper Diário Catarinense in 2002, where he remained until 2011, contributing significantly to the production of special publications about Santa Catarina municipalities, summer magazines, and travel notebooks.

Redel specialized in scenic photography, covering over 20 editions of the Joinville Dance Festival, which is the largest dance festival in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records. He also covered festivals for Animated Forms, Theater, Circus, Sports, and national and international shows.

Redel's photographs have been published in a variety of national and international newspapers and magazines, including Folha de S. Paulo, National Geographic, and Stradda magazine, among others. I hope you like what you will see!
